🔒 Text is sent to our API and Anthropic's Claude API for paraphrasing, then discarded immediately. Nothing is logged.

This tool sends your input to an AI model on our server to produce a result.

How to use Paraphraser

  1. Paste your text (up to 20,000 characters).
  2. Pick a tone: Neutral (default), Formal (business), Casual (conversational), Academic (precise, hedged), Creative (vivid), or Simple (6th-grade level).
  3. Click Paraphrase. The AI rewrites your text word-by-word and sentence-by-sentence, keeping every fact.
  4. Copy the result with one click. Not thrilled with the tone? Change it and re-paraphrase.

Common use cases

  • Avoiding self-plagiarism. Quoting your own earlier work in a new context? Paraphrase to avoid the 'previously published' flag.
  • Adapting content across audiences. Rewrite technical documentation into Simple mode for a general audience, or into Formal for stakeholders.
  • Improving article flow. A paragraph that reads awkward but has the right ideas? Paraphrase to Neutral, keep what works, edit what doesn't.
  • Translation polish. Machine-translated text often reads stilted. Paraphrase to Neutral or Casual for a natural version.
  • Rewriting for SEO variation. Same core content across product pages ranks better with paraphrased variants than exact duplicates.

Tips

  • Neutral tone is the safest default — no unexpected voice changes.
  • Formal tone is great for cover letters, emails to executives, contracts.
  • Casual tone works for social media, blog intros, marketing copy.
  • Simple tone (6th grade) is powerful for accessibility and general audiences — most consumer content should aim for 6th-8th grade level.
  • For paraphrase quality, feed one paragraph at a time — the AI loses coherence past ~2000 characters in a single request.

Troubleshooting

Result too similar to original.
Switch to a different tone. Neutral often preserves too much phrasing when the input is already neutral. Try Casual or Simple for maximum variation.
Result changed my meaning.
Rare but possible with complex technical content. Try a shorter chunk and combine, or switch to Formal / Academic which preserves nuance better than Casual.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text stored?
No. Zero-retention.
Does it work for languages other than English?
Yes. Claude handles 30+ languages with high quality — Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese, and more.
Character limit?
20,000 characters per request. For longer content, paraphrase in chunks.
Difference between Paraphraser and AI Humanizer?
Paraphraser changes the words while preserving your voice; AI Humanizer specifically transforms AI-sounding text into human-sounding text (different goal, similar underlying tech).
Can I use this for academic papers?
Yes for rewriting your own work. For rewriting others' work you must still cite them properly — paraphrasing doesn't remove plagiarism, it just changes the words.
