This tool sends your input to an AI model on our server to produce a result.

How to use Summarize Text

  1. Paste text — an article, meeting transcript, research paper section, product description (up to 20,000 chars = ~3,500 words).
  2. Pick length: TL;DR (one sentence), Short (2-3 sentences), Medium (paragraph), Long (multi-paragraph).
  3. Pick format: Paragraph for reading, Bullet list for scanning.
  4. Click Summarize. Copy the result with one click.

Common use cases

  • Meeting notes → action-ready summary. Paste a Zoom / Teams / Otter transcript, get bullet-list summary with decisions and action items highlighted.
  • Research paper reading. TL;DR mode on the introduction + conclusion helps you decide if the paper is worth reading in full.
  • News catch-up. Paste long articles, get Medium paragraph summaries. Read 5 articles' worth of substance in 5 minutes.
  • Content briefs. Turn a long PDF or article into a Short bullet summary to send to a designer or client.
  • Learning long documentation. Long technical docs summarized to Medium give you the mental model to navigate the full doc more effectively.

Tips

  • For news articles, Short (2-3 sentences) captures the headline + key context.
  • For research and technical content, Long (multi-paragraph) preserves the nuance you need.
  • Bullet-list format is best for meetings, briefings, and content you want to scan later.
  • The summarizer preserves facts and numbers — but always double-check numbers before quoting them from a summary.

Troubleshooting

Summary missed something important.
Try a longer summary length — TL;DR often drops secondary points. Or split the input into sections and summarize each.
Summary added something not in the original.
Rare with Claude but possible on very short inputs. Cross-check against the source before quoting.
